It’s important who you turn to with your burning questions. We get lots of inquiries about the amazing benefits of our CBD oil and tincture, and you can certainly ask us about such things (if you reach out on FaceBook you’ll probably get an answer directly from our CEO, Cedar Grey). But sometimes we use outside sources too. Where CBD is concerned, we like the aptly named Project CBD  Here are a few common questions and some of their answers.

What conditions is CDB used for?

Can CBD levels be manipulated during growing or processing?

Contrary to some rumors, a plant cannot be made CBD-rich if it lacks the right genetic make-up. The ratio of THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids is genetically determined, according to a study by biochemist Etienne de Meijer, Inheritance of the Cannabinoid Phenotype. A grower can, however, influence overall cannabinoid content by manipulating environmental factors—temperature, light, water acidity, and nutrients—that affect plant health. © Project CBD

Why is whole plant extraction important when choosing a CBD product?

Published in the journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy (Feb. 2015), the article directly challenges one of the sacred cows of Big Pharma and the medical-industrial complex—the notion that “crude” botanical preparations are inherently low grade and less effective than pure, single-molecule compounds.
